Take A Hike
Hiking in La Crosse
I took advantage of the overcast skies and cooler weather today and explored the backside of Grandad's Bluff.
This portion of the trail goes through an old quarry, meaning there isn't much cover and the sun can really get to you. So although it's a pretty flat and easy hike, I wouldn't recommend it on a hot, sunny day.
Because there's not many trees, that doesn't mean this hike isn't still beautiful. At the end of summer everything is lush and green, there are plenty of bees, butterflies, and birds to check out, as well as fields of wildflowers.
